Lucky Clovers Event

Lucky Clovers is the Event Card that teaches you when not to take a risk can be just as important as getting lucky. Your group needs to uncover 4 Clover Cards, but individual players must avoid collecting 3 Doom Cards. Get eliminated with 3 Dooms and you go to The Cellar — and your remaining teammates have to keep going without you.

This page is the event recipe. Practical survival habits for the whole event pool live on Survive Events. Danger versus readability ranking lives on event cards. Do not file Lucky Clovers as a monster encounter — it is a card-table minigame where information and patience beat panic. If you need darkness crashes or attic totems, you are on the wrong ticket: Neighbour and Attic Stalker.

the cabin game entered Early Access on 27 August 2026. 1–4 online co-op or solo, Steam Windows, $11.99 USD, 30+ cards, 12 monsters, English-only in-game with localization planned. Lucky Clovers is one card in that mix.

How Lucky Clovers works

At the beginning of each round, four cards are shown face-up on the table. The cards can include:

  • Clover Cards — Count toward the group’s goal of 4 Clovers.
  • Doom Cards — Count against the individual player who reveals them. Three Dooms and you are eliminated.
  • Fish Cards — Neutral cards with no effect. They are neither Clovers nor Dooms.

After everyone sees the cards, they are turned face-down and shuffled. You do not know exactly which card you will receive, but you still have useful information from seeing the cards before they were shuffled.

How to reveal your card

Each player has a candle in front of them. When you want to reveal your card, click your candle to blow it out. Your face-down card flips and counts toward the group total or your personal Doom count.

You do not have to reveal your card every round. You can simply wait for the timer to expire and no card is flipped. That is a valid play.

If you reveal a Clover, it contributes to the group’s total. If you reveal a Doom Card, it is added to your personal Doom count. Once a player gets 3 Doom Cards, that player is sent to The Cellar and cannot continue in the event.

Lucky Clovers strategy

The core insight is that not every round requires action. Revealing a card when nothing useful is left to gain is how players accumulate Dooms for no reason.

Reveal cards one player at a time instead of having everyone take the risk together. For example, if one Clover was visible before the shuffle and another player has already revealed it, you know that the remaining players do not have to risk getting another card that round.

Before blowing out your candle, ask yourself:

  • How many Clovers were shown before the shuffle?
  • Has a Clover already been revealed this round?
  • How many Doom Cards were shown?
  • How many Doom Cards do I already have?
  • Is there actually anything useful left to gain?

Sometimes the smartest move is simply doing nothing and letting the timer run out.

Co-op callouts for Lucky Clovers

Assign a table caller who watches what was shown before the shuffle. That caller says who should reveal and who should wait. Voice chat is English-only in-game, but the call system is the same: someone narrates what is on the table so players not looking directly at the cards can still make informed choices.

If someone already has 2 Dooms, that player should almost never reveal unless the group desperately needs a Clover and the timer is about to expire. Protecting a player with 2 Dooms from themselves is part of the co-op job.

Losing a player to The Cellar does not end the event. The remaining players keep going until the group hits 4 Clovers or everyone is eliminated. One player’s Doom count is their own problem; the group goal is separate.

After the event resolves

Sit down. Check both pawns on the clock track. Write one sentence in the clue notebook: Lucky Clovers, cleared with X Clovers remaining, or Lucky Clovers, eliminated with X Dooms. Then return to investigation. Lucky Clovers does not name the escape room. How to Escape and clues still decide the win.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about cards, clues, monsters, and escaping the cabin.

How do you win Lucky Clovers?

The group needs to reveal 4 Clover Cards total. Individual players try to avoid collecting 3 Doom Cards, which eliminates them and sends them to The Cellar.

Do I have to reveal my card every round?

No. You can wait for the timer to expire and no card flips. That is often the correct play when all useful Clovers have already been revealed or when you already have dangerous Doom count.

What are Fish Cards?

Neutral cards with no effect. They are neither Clovers nor Dooms. If you reveal a Fish, nothing happens to your Doom count or the group Clover count.

Can a teammate eliminate themselves and ruin the run?

They can eliminate themselves, but the event continues for the remaining players. The group goal is 4 Clovers, not keeping everyone alive. Protect players with 2 Dooms from revealing unnecessarily.

Does Lucky Clovers identify the escape room?

No. Lucky Clovers is a card-table minigame, not an investigation. It does not name the escape. Sit down after and return to clues.

Should I reveal if I already have 2 Dooms?

Almost never, unless the group desperately needs a Clover and the timer is about to expire. A third Doom eliminates you. Let a teammate with fewer Dooms take the risk if a card must be revealed.
